Food + Drink: Raw Fruit Tart with Lemon Curd and Cream
Welcome to my first recipe post! Well it’s officially my first recipe post, as for years I posted recipes under the blog foodonpaper.com. It was my go-to place to share recipe, talk life, and take awesome photos, as well as eat awesome food!
In 2015 I started to faze out the blog. My business acquadesignstudio.com.au took off, and well, I was pregnant. No longer did I have the spare time to cook, style, photograph, edit and write recipes. When at the start of 2016 I had my baby, Henry, I assumed I’d never blog again. Enter 2017, and I’m becoming more organised and focused, and ready to blog again.
So I kick off this topic with a very fitting recipe – a raw fruit tart with lemon curd and cream. Why is it fitting? Because it was the cake I made for Henry’s first birthday. I wanted something not overly processed, natural, that incorporated his love of fruit but was still a celebration. I looked around for my recipes, and settled on a raw nutty base with no refined sugar. I stumbled upon butterbaking.com (go check it out) and noticed her amazing open tarts, and thought it would be perfect with the raw base. After adjusting the ingredients, I came up with this tart which was a hit! Henry loved it, as well as everyone else, and I didn’t feel guilty about giving him cake. Of course, at his birthday party he had another cake, a more gluttonous cake non the less…
